This Privacy Policy governs how The Amani Foundation, Inc. collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of the amanigolf.com website (“Site”) and donors (each, a “Donor”) to the organization through any means (mail, phone, etc.). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services The Amani Foundation, Inc offers.

We may collect personal identification information from users and/or donors in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when users visit our site, register on the site, place an order, make a donation, subscribe to the newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users and donors may be asked for, as appropriate, their name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and credit card information. Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from users and donors only if they voluntarily submit it to us. Users and donors can always refuse to supply personal identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in specific Site related activities.

Non-personal identification information

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer, and technical information about users’ means of connection to our sites, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized and other similar information.

Web browser cookies

Our Site may use “cookies” to enhance the User experience. Users’ web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. Users may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies or to alert them when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.

We may use the information users, and donors provide about themselves when placing an order or making a donation only to provide service to that order or donation. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to provide the service and/or process payments and refunds.

Measuring our visitors

We measure visitors to our website using Google Analytics. This records what pages you view within our site, how you arrived at our site, and some basic information about your computer. All of that information is anonymous – so we don’t know who you are; just that somebody visited our site.

The information we collect from analytics helps us understand what parts of our sites are doing well, how people arrive at our site, and so on. Like most websites, we use this information to make our website better.

You can learn more about Google Analytics or opt-out if you wish.

How we protect your information

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information, and data stored on our Site.

Sensitive and private data exchange between the Site and its Users happens over an SSL-secured communication channel and is encrypted and protected with digital signatures. Our Site is also in compliance with PCI vulnerability standards to create as secure an environment as possible for users.

While we take great care to ensure any confidential information remains protected, we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the Internet.

Sharing your personal information

We do not sell, trade, or rent users’ or donors’ personal identification information to others.

We will not share or sell donors’ information with anyone else nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations.

Users and donors may additionally opt out of any electronic marketing communications and/or mail from us at any time by using the “Unsubscribe” links in any of our correspondence, contacting us at 410-937-1956, or emailing our support team.

We may share generic, aggregated, and anonymized demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners and trusted affiliates for the abovementioned purposes. We may use third-party service providers to help us operate our business and the Site or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys. We may share your information with these third parties for those limited purposes, provided that you have given us your permission.

Third-party websites

Users may find other content on our Site that link to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors, and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Site. In addition, these sites or services, including their content and links, may constantly change. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites with a link to our Site, is subject to that website’s terms and policies.

Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks

These services provide social buttons and similar features which we use on our website – such as the “Like” and “Tweet” buttons.

To do so, we embed the code that they provide, and we do not control ourselves. To function, their buttons generally know if you’re logged in; for example, Facebook uses this to say “x of your friends like this”. We cannot access that information, nor can we control how those networks use it.

Social networks, therefore, could know that you’re viewing this website if you use their services (that isn’t to say they do, but their policies may change).

Online payment

We use a variety of payment providers to process donations and/or bills for our products and services online. These companies will have access to your personal and payment information. When paying by credit card, The Amani Foundation DOES NOT ever have any access to your credit card details.

The third parties we use are Stripe (to process credit cards) and PayPal (to process credit cards and accept payment via PayPal).

We share information with these companies only to the extent necessary for the purposes of processing payments you make via our website.

Changes to this privacy policy

The Amani Foundation, Inc. can update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that you must review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

By using this Site, you signify your acceptance of this policy. If you disagree with this policy, please do not use our Site. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
