This is a charity event. Have a great time, and if there is anything we can do to enhance your enjoyment of your experience with us, please let us know. We could not do the life-changing work we do worldwide without the generous support of people like you.
Our format is a traditional scramble format. This means that, in our format, each player hits their own shot from the tee. The team then chooses the best shot. Players whose shots were not selected go and pick up their ball from where it lies and place it where the “best” shot came to rest. In placing the other three balls, the ball can be placed anywhere no nearer the hole that is within one club length from the “best ball” spot. However, you cannot move the ball from the rough to the fairway, from the sand to the rough/fairway, or from the fringe onto the green. After the second shots are taken, the process is repeated for each successive team shot until the team is in the hole. Scoring is based on a gross team score. Each foursome plays as a team against all other competing foursomes. Scoring for the tournament is not handicap unadjusted. In addition, the team must use at least four tee shots from each of the four players during the 18-hole round, or else the foursome is disqualified from the competition.
At the end of the competition, in the event of a tie, the team with the lower score on the highest handicap hole (hole 5) will be the winner. If there is a tie between the two teams with respect to the highest handicap hole, the scores of the two teams for the 2nd highest handicap hole will be compared, and so on, until a winner can be determined.
Men will hit tee shots from the tournament tee boxes marked for the event. Ladies can hit their tee shots from the forward tees (red) or the tournament tee boxes at their sole discretion.
Absolutely every single shot must be put out. There are no “gimmes” in this tournament. Failure to abide by these rules could lead to immediate disqualification.
The maximum score on any given hole is a double bogey (+2). If you have reached that score as a team, please do not continue to play. Please pick up your balls and proceed to the next hole.
Otherwise, the traditional rules of golf apply.
Please note that if all four players fail to hit a tee shot within bounds, the team may not take a drop where one of the four shots went out of bounds. The team must count those four chances as team stroke 1, take a one-stroke drop (shot 2) and then re-hit, lying two striking three from the tee box. This is repeated until the team is in the hole or until the maximum score is reached.
Mulligans (do-overs) are allowed in this tournament, subject to a 4-mulligan maximum per golfer and a team maximum of 16. Mulligans can be used for any shot except putts. Mulligans must be purchased before play begins. Mulligans can be transferred (given) to other foursome team members if the individual or team limit is not exceeded. SuperDrive Tee Shots ($20.00)
On Holes 9 and 15, it is permitted for male players to strike their tee shot from the forward (red) tees as opposed to the tournament tees, provided that the player has pre-purchased a SuperDrive ticket. SuperDrive Tickets are $20/piece, with a maximum of 4 per player. Only Four are allowed because a player could choose to purchase a SuperDrive ticket, hit a poor tee shot, and then use one of his four mulligans to strike a 2nd SuperDrive tee shot from the same tee box.
